Malthouse Farm, Swainsthorpe

Our role was to unlock the potential of a traditional rural farmstead and create a coherent residential development that respected the character of the existing buildings and wider village setting.

We developed a phased design approach that combined the sensitive subdivision of the former farmhouse, the replacement of the cottage and the conversion of redundant agricultural buildings into new homes. Careful consideration was given to layout, access, parking, landscaping, residential amenity and the relationship between old and new built forms.

Our design focused on retaining the rural identity of the site while introducing high-quality homes suited to modern living. The project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex rural redevelopment schemes that balance heritage, practicality, planning requirements and long-term residential use.
