Old Hall Loke, Suffolk
Our role was to unlock the potential of a redundant agricultural building and create a sensitive, design-led residential scheme within a highly distinctive historic and rural context.
We developed a proposal for three spacious detached homes and associated garaging, carefully balancing architectural quality, planning policy, landscape impact and the site’s relationship with the nearby Grade II listed hall and moat.
Our design approach reinterpreted the agricultural character of the original building through contemporary detailing and high-quality materials. Particular attention was given to scale, proportion, building form and material selection, ensuring the new homes sat comfortably within the Suffolk countryside while delivering a significant improvement to the site.
The project demonstrates our ability to take a challenging rural site with planning and heritage sensitivities and deliver a commercially valuable, architecturally strong and contextually appropriate development.
